That Cooper's Hawk was really struggling to take down that Common Grackle. It took more than 8 minutes it looks like before the Grackle finally stopped breathing and it flew off elsewhere to eat it! Speaking of Grackles, sometimes I used to feed grackles some french fries that I put on my lawn, along with cupcakes, meat, and other stuff (I probably shouldn't name them all). I'm sure that attracted some Cooper's Hawks because my grandma saw one feasting on something on her sidewalk right near her front porch.
